This train-the-trainer DVD teaches the viewer how to deliver health literacy education in Indigenous communities. Basic health literacy is considered very important because it helps people understand how their bodies work, what problems affect them, and what changes they can make to fix these problems.
The DVD shows trainers how to teach the following concepts to members of Indigenous communities:
The DVD is spoken in English and provides a step-by-step guide to teaching the above concepts.
It was developed by Aboriginal Resource and Development Services, an organisation with extensive experience in teaching health literacy to Yolŋu people using Yolŋu concepts and language.
The DVD presentation is delivered by Richard Trudgen, author of Why warriors lie down and die.
