Description

The Eat well SA schools and preschools healthy eating guidelines provide a framework through which schools and preschools can promote learning, health and wellbeing in relation to food and nutrition.

The guidelines reflect and support a number of Commonwealth and state policies and were issued to all school and preschools in South Australia in 2004, and re-released as part of the Right bite resource pack in 2008.

The guidelines provide a framework for schools and preschools to develop their own Healthy eating policy through six areas of practice:

The guidelines aim to support healthy environments in schools and preschools, increase fruit and vegetable consumption, provide recommendations for healthy eating, promote healthy weight and address food related issues for priority groups.
