Mindframe Media and Mental Health Project
Canberra
Report
Department of Health and Ageing
This report was produced for health practitioners involved in mental health and suicide prevention as a guide on how to work with the media. The report recognises that these health practitioners have an important role in supporting the appropriate media coverage of suicide, mental illness, and mental health.
The report offers suggestions for providing information about suicide, mental illness, and mental health that follow the best practice guidelines for reporting. The report also provides information and advice on working with the media, facts and statistics on suicide and mental illness, as well as contact information.
This is not an Indigenous specific resource but does include information on suicide and mental illness among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
