Chronic renal disease (2005)

Description

This DVD provides information on chronic kidney disease (CKD). It covers:

• the stages of CKD
• the risk factors for CKD
• management plans to minimise risk factors
• prevention plans
• treatment strategies for the management of CKD.

The program also examines the lessons learned from CKD intervention programs conducted in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, and how this knowledge can be transferred and applied more broadly.

When to use this resource

This DVD can assist health professionals to understand their roles when managing a client with renal disease. It can also be used to identify factors for renal disease, and help with the development of client management plans based on these risk factors. It aims to help health professionals to understand the impact of renal disease in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This is not an Indigenous specific resource.
