The Ngarngadji! Listen/Understand! Improving care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients (ICAP) resource was developed within the Victorian acute health care system and seeks to improve care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
The kit is is designed for use by a range of health professionals who are working in a capacity relating to hospitals and the acute care system with a focus on Aboriginal health programs and services, and in particular for Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers.
The kit has five sections:
1. ICAP resources project final report
2. orientation guide for Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers
3. orientation and information for health service managers
4. cultural competence and awareness information for health services
5. practice examples from Victorian Health Service.
