Leaflet
This leaflet has been developed to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their health practitioner identify what keeps them strong, their concerns, and how they are managing their mental health issues.
The leaflet contains checklists and questions that relate to the client's mental health status. An example of the items covered in the form include:
The resource has been produced in several different formats, suitable for both the practitioner and the client, and is part of a resource package developed by the Australian Integrated Mental Health Initiative.
Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet abstract
The Stay strong plan is designed to be completed by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people experiencing problems with their mental health. Mental health practitioners can assist their clients in developing their own Stay strong plan. The plan encourages the client to reflect on the people and things in their life that help to keep them strong, set goals to help keep strong, and to identify when they are becoming unwell.
