Let's talk about living with cancer (2008)

Description

These two resources have been specifically developed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Both the poster and brochure use culturally appropriate artwork and wording to enhance knowledge about cancer among the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Queensland. The brochure focuses on the following topic areas: what is cancer, how is cancer treated, available support, practical advice for cancer sufferers, and myth busting.

When to use this resource

The brochure is best used for giving to clients or community members to give them some basic information about cancer and cancer treatment. It mentions that they can contact their local Health Worker or liaison officer for more information, and after reading the brochure they will have a better idea of what more they want to ask.

The poster can be displayed at community or health promotion events, or in an office or clinic, to raise people's awareness of the brochure.
