Deadly Choices TV commercials (2012)

Description

The Institute of Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) has produced two videos as part of their Deadly choices program. The program targets young people aged 15 to 18 years and encourages them to be positive role models and mentors for their family, peer group and community in leading a healthy lifestyle. The videos encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to make deadly (healthy) choices to tackle chronic disease and smoking. The videos promote:

• healthy life choices and not smoking, featuring Indigenous rugby league players and legends from the National Rugby League
• a specific strategy targeting smoking within Indigenous communities, particularly young people and pregnant mothers, featuring prominent local Indigenous community identities.
