This training package includes a DVD and facilitator's handbook that can be used to teach safe food-handling skills to people who work in remote Indigenous communities in Australia. The training package can also be used to inform remote food-handlers about their responsibilities under the National Food Safety Standards.
The video is produced in 13 Indigenous languages, and is applicable to workers in a variety of remote settings, including community stores, bistros, take-away food outlets, creches, and meals-on-wheels operations.

The facilitator's handbook which accompanies the video describes practical exercises that can be used to teach safe food-handling skills. These include instructions for cultivating bacteria in a petri dish overnight, to raise knowledge about the origin, growth and role of bacteria in food poisoning.
