This leaflet on trauma has been developed for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It seeks to raise awareness about how trauma can affect people by providing information on the following:

• what is trauma
• what to look for
• how to feel better
• ways to help
• where to go for help.

The leaflet includes artwork and wording that is relevant and appealing to young people.

When to use this resource

The information contained in this leaflet would be helpful for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have experienced trauma or those with friends or family who have experienced trauma. The leaflet should be made available in places visited by young people, and health workers could pass on the leaflet to their young clients.
