Resource package
The National cancer nursing education project (EdCaN) is a national project that was conducted over four years, from 2005 to 2009, and was funded by the Australian Government under the Strengthening cancer care initiative. The EdCaN learning resources were designed to assist nurses develop competency standards for specialist cancer nursing, outlined in the National professional development framework for cancer nursing. The resources were developed to cover a broad range of topics that are relevant to all nurses working in cancer care, including those new to the field as well as those with many years experience. The resources are intended for use by individual nurses to meet their own learning needs, or by educators who design and implement professional development activities. This resource package contains a supporting module which will assist in the development of competencies for cancer care among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
