Resource package
Good food for diabetes is a new resource for Indigenous people with diabetes. Released in May 2011, there is a 16 page booklet for consumers and a 16 page flipchart for health professionals.
Designed especially for Indigenous Northern Territorians, the images of foods include bush foods such as goanna and damper. The healthy food plate uses practical size comparisons for example, one palm-sized serve of meat and one fist-sized serve of carbohydrates, instead of suggested serving sizes.
