Department of Indigenous Affairs districts communities maps (2011)

Description

The maps produced by the Western Australian Department of Indigenous Affairs provide information regarding Indigenous communities and their location.

The maps include an overview of:

• Aboriginal reserves
• Aboriginal lands trust estate
• An adaptation of Tindale's tribal boundaries map (first published in the 1940's following extensive research)
• Department of Indigenous Affairs districts
• Aboriginal communities

The maps give an excellent indication of the number of Indigenous communities, the tribal boundaries and language groups that exist and highlights the extent of divserity in Western Australia. They can be downloaded individually or as a set.
