Description

This comic deals with the mental health issues of depression, anxiety, and self-harm or suicide. The comic tells the story of a teenager who is bullied at school, misunderstood by his teacher, and feels isolated from his family. He begins to feel overwhelmed and considers taking his own life until a local Elder helps him get in touch with his culture and spirituality. The comic was designed for an Indigenous Canadian audience, and contains Indigenous Canadian artwork and themes.

When to use this resource

This comic could be used by teachers or mental health practitioners in a school setting to encourage dicussions, and raise awareness, about depression, anxiety, and self-harm or suicide among Indigenous youths.
