Description

This resource package is a card set which focuses on the strengths and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. The cards are a photomontage (group of photos) of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander themes which encourage people to talk, build self esteem and connect with their community. They have been designed mainly for children and young people. The cards cover themes such as:

• identity
• Elders
• connection
• celebrations
• heroes
• stories
• music
• health
• pride
• struggles
• the past, present and future.

When to use this resource

The cards can be used as a cross cultural educational tool for child and family welfare services who work in schools or communities to help people talk about their experiences. They are also a useful tool for groups focusing on programs relating to reconciliation, social justice and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
