Dementia learning resource for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (2010)

Description

This resource package, developed by Alzheimer's Australia and revised by the Office of Ageing NSW, provides culturally appropriate and Indigenous-specific information on dementia. It can be used for awareness raising activities, information sessions, and educational and training programs specifically targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The recent changes to the resource means it is now aligned to national accredited training in the following units of competency:

• CHCAC319A - Provide support to those affected by dementia
• CHCAC416A - Facilitate support responsive to the specific nature of dementia
• HLTIR404B - Work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
