Description

These guidelines provide information and advice on reclaimed water; water that comes from wastewater which is then treated to a quality appropriate for the intended use (e.g., potable, recreational, agricultural).

These guidelines have been prepared to foster the use of reclaimed water in a way that provides safeguards for public health as well as community and environmental benefits. Content covered includes:

The guidelines address effluent arising from municipal wastewater plans, however they do not consider reclaimed water from individual household systems or undiluted liquid wastes of industrial origin.
