This video examines the experiences of Remote Area Nurses (RANS) who are working in isolated Aboriginal communities. The RANs explore issues such as culture and professional shock, isolation and loneliness as well as making a plea for specialist clinical and cross-cultural training. The stories are a fitting tribute to this 'special breed of nurses' who become addicted to the challenges, the excitement and the rewards associated with working in outback Australia.
