Deadly Steps: Indigenous Youth [DVD] (2008)

Description

Deadly Steps is a documentary program that explores adolescent development issues among Indigenous youth aged 13 to 18 years. These include issues relating to educational attainment, risk-taking behaviour, and alcohol and other drug use.

The program showcases successful community-based initiatives that are having positive impact on the health and wellbeing of Indigenous young people. These include:

• a football-based program in a high school in Kununurra, WA
• a young women's group in Palmerston, NT and Tirkandi Inaburra
• a culturally-based residential program for Indigenous boys aged 12-15 near Coleambally, NSW.

A DVD of the program can be purchased from the Rural Health Education Foundation.
