Overview

The Young women's community health program is run through the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress's women's health and birthing centre. The program employs two educators who deliver sexual health education to young women aged 12 to 20 years.

The education sessions are delivered in a sensitive manner and include a range of enjoyable activities. An example of the topics covered include:

• safe sex;
• sexually transmissible infections;
• relationships;
• pregnancy and birth; and
• women's health and women's business.

The educational sessions are appropriate for groups or individuals and may be conducted in a range of settings including schools, youth organisations, town camps, and remote communities.
