Connecting communities - Moree's shared pathway project

Overview

The Connecting communities project involves installing a 2 metre wide shared pathway from Edward Street to Pius X Aboriginal Corporation along Anne Street, from Alice Street to Anne Street along Edward Street and Greenbah Road (Gwydir Highway) in Moree.

In addition to installing the 2 metre wide shared pathway, council will also deliver the construction work as part of a specific employment program targeted at the local unemployed population. The program will not only provide a number of short-term and long-term employment opportunities but also allow the participants to gain skills and knowledge in the civil construction industry. It is hoped that this will assist the participants to gain further employment in the local area.
