Ending offending

Overview

Run by Queensland Corrective Services, the Ending offending program is a culturally-specific program designed for Indigenous offenders to help address aspects of their criminogenic behaviour relating to alcohol abuse.

Ending offending is a brief intervention aimed at helping Indigenous offenders modify their drinking and offending behaviour. The program is based on a cognitive behavioural model and uses both active and experiential learning exercises that are culturally appropriate. It assists offenders to change their understanding, attitudes and behaviour in regards to alcohol use. It is available in correctional centres and the probation and parole service.
