Making choices: moderate intensity men's program for general offending is a moderate intensity 100 hour program which targets general offending behaviour run by Queensland Corrective Services. It forms part of the High intensity violent offending program. Making choices uses a range of treatment methods shown to be effective in reducing recidivism, including:
By targeting a range of criminogenic needs related to general offending, the program aims to reduce an individual's overall risk of recidivism. Key themes of accepting responsibility and being personally and socially accountable for one's own behaviour are emphasised throughout the program.
The program has been designed for moderate to high risk offenders with assessed criminogenic needs that match those targeted by the program.
