Cool CAP school canteen accreditation program

Overview

This program addresses major health and wellbeing issues around the provision, preparation and safe service of food for all members of a school community. Cool CAP involves a possible three year process to achieve accreditation (Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards). During these phases a school will make significant nutritional and health gains in menu selection, product inclusion, food safety standards, and links to the curriculum. A whole school approach is necessary for successful implementation of the Cool CAP program. The promotion of good health outcomes for all students and staff complement the broader aims of the Tasmanian Food and Nutrition Policy.
