Canteen accreditation program (CAP)

Overview

The Canteen accreditation program (CAP) is a school canteen program run by the Tasmanian School Canteen Association, offering a model of best practice for canteen management.

The program addresses major health and wellbeing issues around the provision, preparation and safe service of food for all members of a school community. The CAP program enables healthy choices to become easy choices for both students and staff. It provides additional benefits outside of the canteen menu:

All Tasmanian primary, district, secondary and college canteens are eligible to participate in the program.

The promotion of good health outcomes for all students and staff complement the broader aims of the Tasmanian food and nutrition policy.
