Asthma child and adolescent program (ACAP)

Overview

The Asthma child and adolescent program is part of the Australian Government's national Asthma management program. The Asthma Foundations of Australia have been funded to deliver this program to support Australian school students with asthma and linked chronic respiratory conditions.

The Asthma child and adolescent program will provide information and training for school and preschool staff to learn about asthma management and how to respond in an emergency. This program will also provide information for parents and carers, and support adolescents to improve their asthma self-management.

A one hour training session is available for schools and preschools. The training covers topics including symptoms and triggers, links to other respiratory conditions, asthma management and medications and emergency first aid.
