Western region diabetes analysis project



The Western region diabetes analysis project was undertaken by the Australian Community Centre for Diabetes (ACCD). The aim is to provide insight into the diabetes epidemic, geographic hotspots and demographic profile of the western region of Melbourne.

The first stage of the project has been to map diabetes prevalence in the western suburbs of Melbourne. This will enable the ACCD to develop new approaches to diabetes prevention and management, and to reduce diabetes-related disease in identified (or priority) communities where the rate of diabetes is high or increasing.
