Overview

The Nyoongar patrol outreach service delivers social and welfare services to Indigenous people who are homeless, affected by substances and at risk to themselves and the general community in Perth, Western Australia. This service identifies Indigenous juveniles at risk of self-harm and Indigenous juveniles deemed 'at risk' and make appropriate referrals. To provide patrol services with partner Councils and Agencies to increase safety and harmony for all members of the community.

The Nyoongar patrol outreach service aims to:

• engage and refer people (in patrol target areas) to the relevant agencies and/or implement diversionary or safety measures
• promote partnership and co-operation with other organisations to ensure appropriate, effective responses in service provisions
• maintain the strong reputation of the patrol and enhancing respect for the Aboriginal community
• remain a strong viable organisation.

The patrol covers the Perth Central Business District and surrounding regions (Fremantle, Midland, Northbridge and Vincent).
