Overview

In order to close the gap in life expectancy between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation the government announced the placement of 83 Indigenous Outreach Workers across Australia. The workers will help increase community engagement with health services and access to other health services such as; follow-up care,specialist services and community pharmacies. The workers will be employed by Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organsiations and Divisions of General Practice.
