Development of a Victorian Aboriginal nutrition training program

Overview

The aim of this project was to develop an Aboriginal nutrition workforce in the community.
Monash University undertook a review of local and interstate nutrition training programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers while consulting with the Victorian Aboriginal community. An Aboriginal nutrition training program was then developed, as well as resources and a model for delivery of training to the targeted group. A pilot program was run in Victoria.
