The Healthy ways project was established in 2001 as a cross Government initiative to respond to the well established needs of Aboriginal pregnant women, mothers, babies and young children in South Australia. The Healthy ways project aimed to support the health and educational outcomes of Aboriginal women and young children and families in communities in South Australia. Specific focus was put on nutrition, education and tobacco use. A further focus was capacity development at personal, collective, systemic and structural levels. This project ran from 2001 to 2005 and was evaluated positively in 2005.
