Overview

The Goori diabetes complication and assessment clinic (DCAC) is a travelling multi-disciplinary team that services the communities of Casino, Jubullum Village, Muli Muli and Coraki. It also services the communities of Bonalbo, Urbenville, Woodenbong and Box Ridge. The service is free to the Aboriginal communities.

The DCAC is a monthly clinic and each community hosts three clinics per calendar year.

The health care team includes:

• a GP
• an ophthalmologist
• a podiatrist
• a diabetes educator
• a dietician
• an exercise physiologist
• a pharmacist
• a pathologist
• Aboriginal Health Workers
• registered nurses.

This clinic gives the client a 'one stop' diabetes annual cycle of care, providing assessment and treatment of their diabetes and early detection and prevention of co-morbidities.
