Overview

The Emergency management toolbox was developed by the Western Australian Local Government Association's Emergency Services Unit to assist local governments in Western Australia (WA) to understand their emergency management responsibilities. The toolbox provides information on all areas relating to emergency management and enables users to:

• plan for emergencies in their community
• plan for recovery after emergencies or disasters
• conduct risk assessments.

The Emergency management toolbox includes information on:

• the Emergency Management Act 2005, regulations and related policies
• strategies for engaging the local community
• how to draw on cross-representation to ensure links are established
• emergency risk managemen
• building emergency management arrangements
• engaging in the recovery process and the recovery template
• reviewing, testing and validating the local emergency management arrangements
• training options for emergency management
• policy updates and coming events
• emergency management contact directory for WA.
