Overview

Territory care was funded as part of the National caring communities program and aimed to identify, empower, train and support people caring for Indigenous palliative care patients in residential care facilities and communities in the NT. This project identified and supported three Indigenous communities based in the central catchment region of the NT. These communities were consulted regarding family wishes for looking after a terminally ill family member. They were also provided with guidance regarding appropriate palliative care training options and support for families and patients in the community and/or in the residential care facility.
