Overview

Yirra Yaakin Theatre and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia joined forces to present Muttacar sorry business, a unique performance tackling the high incidence of road trauma in Indigenous communities.

This project addresses key elements such as alcohol, risk taking behaviours and overcrowding, which, when combined with specific social issues, create a tragically high level of road trauma amongst Indigenous populations.

In 2008, Yirra Yaakin also teamed up with the NT Department of Lands and Planning's road safety branch and Artback NT to take the production to the Alice Springs and Tennant Creek areas of the Northern Territory.
