Education Services for Heart Disease and Diabetes

Overview

Healthy Living NT has cardiac and diabetes education services based in both Darwin and Alice Springs and some remote communities across Northern Territory (NT). Telephone and email support is also available for clients who are unable to attend an appointment in person. The education services include group and individual education for people with cardiac conditions or diabetes, and their families.

Education is provided by qualified diabetes and cardiac nurse educators and dietitians. In some classes a pharmacist, physiotherapist and behaviour modification expert may also be used.

Interpreters are available as required.

The education services are supported by the NT Government, and are free for people with all types of diabetes, including pre-diabetes, and heart disease, who live in the NT.
