In April 2005, the Department of Health and Community Services launched a Northern Territory wide campaign to promote the increased consumption of fruit and vegetables. With a tag line of "Go for 2 & 5", Territorians are encouraged to increase their consumption to 2 serves of fruit and 5 serves of vegetables per day, in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines. A range of activities has been held in all regions of the Territory, including cooking demonstrations, educational talks, sharing of policy development ideas, and visits to schools and communities by the 'Veggie Man' (spokesperson for the campaign).
