Fruit and Veg Immunisation Incentive Program

Overview

This program uses fruit and vegetables as an incentive to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the remote communities of Aurukun and Napranum, Queensland, to have their annual influenza injection.

Apunipima Cape York Health Council has been granted $20,000 to introduce a $20 fruit and vegetable voucher scheme for every person who receives their flu vaccine injection.

The grant is an initiative of the Public Health Association of Australia.
