Binya Gurang - Promotion of Breastfeeding to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women

Overview

This program involved the development of culturally and linguistically appropriate resources to promote breastfeeding among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers who accessed King George V Hospital.

An education program was additionally developed and conducted at antenatal and postnatal classes where the resources were distributed. The resources included a baby t-shirt, nappy bag, and pamphlets.

The resources were developed in collaboration with the Parent Education Unit, King George V Hospital.
