Healthy active Australia community and schools grants program

Healthy active Australia community and schools grants program was established to promote physical activity and healthy eating at the local level.

The program provided grants between $10,000 and $200,000 for projects of up to 18 months, to not-for-profit organisations to undertake healthy eating and physical activity initiatives. The grant rounds were conducted in 2007 and 2008. The program attracted over 2000 submissions.

The program assisted at-risk target groups (such as children, adolescents, young women, families in lower socio-economic and rural/remote areas, and Indigenous communities) to increase physical activity and healthy eating, and promoted healthy living at the grassroots level in Australian schools and communities.
