Cancer connect program

Overview

The Cancer connect program involves a form of peer support that assists clients to self manage their psychosocial and emotional needs while living their cancer journey. The program offers a safe encounter for people affected by cancer to feel heard and understood. Anyone affected by cancer is able to access the program. The objectives of the project include capacity building of three Cancer Council Northern Territory (NT) cancer support nurses to deliver a specialised training program to NT volunteers who can then provide peer support to clients.
