Indigenous leadership program

Overview

The Indigenous Leadership program aimed to build the capacity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to be leaders in their communities in the Northern Territory (NT).

The program promoted two-way learning and sought to empower participants to become leaders in the Aboriginal community controlled health sector and was built on principles of respect, inclusiveness, diversity and ownership.

Through participation in the program participants developed skills in networking and confidence, and the promotion of cultural security in the workplace.

The program was supported by the Workforce and Aboriginal Leadership Support Unit at the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance NT (AMSANT).
