Good sports program

 

Overview

The Good sports program offers communities in the Northern Territory the opportunity to address risky drinking and smoking though community sports.

Communities work to attain three levels of accreditation that identifies a range of areas in which clubs can improve their practices. Good sports address four of the seven Closing the gap targets:

Once a sporting club signs up to the program, a Good Sports Project Officer assists the committee to work through the entire process with materials, one-on-one visits and ongoing support. To progress through the accreditation levels, the club committee agrees to meet specific standards.
