Police drug diversion liaison program

Overview

The Police drug diversion liaison program operated by the Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council (ADAC) of South Australia, assisted Aboriginal people who were charged by the police with possession of small amounts of illegal drugs. The program offered an alternative to criminalisation. Referral for counselling and treatment was also provided if appropriate.
