Get Healthy Information and Coaching Service



The Get Healthy Information and Coaching Service (Get Healthy Service) is a free telephone based service, staffed by qualified health coaches, that aims to support adults to make healthy lifestyle changes. It is based on the very successful Quitline model used for smokers.

In addition to the standard Get Healthy Service, there are two extra modules:

  1. Type 2 diabetes prevention module: this module focuses on increasing awareness and assists in the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
  2. Aboriginal module: this module was developed to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants have access to a culturally appropriate service, and offers coaching and materials that are specific to Indigenous communities. Indigenous participants who are at risk of type 2 diabetes will also be enrolled in the Type 2 diabetes prevention module.

The Get Healthy Service is a joint Australian, State and Territory initiative under the National Partnership Agreement on Preventative Health, and funded by NSW Health.
