Butt Out Boondah (smoke)

 

Overview

Butt out Boondah (smoke) is a smoking cessation and healthy lifestyle program designed for Aboriginal communities in New South Wales (NSW) that covers the geographical areas of Cooma, Queanbeyan, Goulburn and Yass.

As part of the Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) program, Grand Pacific Health have developed a Social Marketing Campaign to expand their existing Butt out Boondah messaging via mainstream and social media. This messaging shows local people explaining their reasons for wanting to quit. Butt Out Boondah is supported by local activities, each of which is designed to support the community make positive behaviour changes associated with improved health outcomes. These activities include:

Butt out Boondah provides support to Aboriginal people in the local area and has developed a number of health promotion videos to encourage the local community to quit smoking.
