Clinical liaison Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (CLAIS)

Overview

Clinical liaison Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (CLAIS) provides culturally competent counselling/mentoring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families, within the Gold Coast region, who are experiencing problems with alcohol and other drug use and may be experiencing mental health disorders.

The CLAIS team provide supportive counselling and outreach activities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients who are residents of the Mirikai Therapeutic Community and clients in the community.

CLAIS is based in the Banjara Medical building at the Gold Coast Drug Council. The program also provides appointments for clients at venues that may be more suitable for young people and their families.
