Indigenous health careers access program (IHCAP)

 

Overview

The Indigenous health careers access program is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are seeking a career in nursing. The program aims to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment prospects within the Mount Isa and surrounding areas of Queensland. There are a range of entry options available:

On completion of the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2) graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

This initiative is a partnership between James Cook University (JCU), Tropical North Qld TAFE and the Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MICRRH).
