Keep it corka

Overview

The Keep it corka program aims to support Indigenous communities in South Australia to prevent chronic disease.

Activities of the program include:

A major initiative of the program is the Keep it corka roller derby which invites men and women of all ages, abilities and sizes to participate in team roller skating competitions. The roller derby is open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants and aims to encourage participation by community members, build self esteem, and counteract negative body perceptions and shame often experienced by Indigenous people.

Keep it corka is a partnership between the Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia (ACHSA) and Murray Mallee Community Health.
