Health Workers for healthy communities

 

Overview

The Health Workers for healthy communities program aims to train Indigenous people living in Queensland as primary health care workers, and address the growing demand for Indigenous Health Workers who provide trust and cultural understanding to Indigenous patients.

Advantages of this program include:

The program consists of a one-week induction on the Sunshine Coast and then flexible local delivery of six one-week study blocks.

This program is a partnership between John Pearson Consulting, the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and Juwarki.
