The global burden of disease study 2010 - rheumatic heart disease (RHD) writing group

 

Overview

The aim of this project is to describe the epidemiology for a comprehensive reassessment of rheumatic heart disease (RHD) burden in 21 regions of the world for the period 1990 to 2009.

The objectives of the project are to:

This project will update the global epidemiology of RHD, providing estimates of prevalence, incidence, moratlity, years of life lost (YLL), years of life lost due to disability (YLD), and disability adjusted life years (DALYs) for the 21 global regions.

Analysis of project data is due for completion in late 2013.
